PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic feeder enabling the cost to be limited at low levels even in the case of the small set number thereof and enabling its raising chamber to easily be cleaned. SOLUTION: This automatic feeder 20 is such one that an automatic feeder body 1 having a gate means 25 openably closing the feed discharge ports 6a, 6b and 6c of a feed box 3 is connected to the feed box 3 dischargeably containing feed for small animal; wherein the body 1 includes a timer 21 giving a signal at a specified time or each at a set time, a control section 22 connected to the timer 21 and making a startup of the gate means 25 on receiving a signal from the timer 21, and a battery 23 for supplying electric power to the gate means 25, the timer 21 and the control section 22. This automatic feeder 20 has the following advantages: there is no need for setting any parent instrument and laying any lead wire, it can be actuated in itself, enabling the cost to be limited at low levels even in the case of the small set number thereof and also enabling its raising chamber to easily be cleaned.
