PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transplant a tree without blighting the tree, while preventing the cracking of the ground in a transplantation work. SOLUTION: Moats and a transport road are connectedly formed around the roots of a standing tree in a prescribed depth. The side faces of a clod around the roots of the standing tree are fixed with a covering member. A power cutting blade is attached to the opening side of a U-shaped frame extended on both the sides of the clod around the roots of the standing tree, and the bottom side of the clod around the standing tree is cut off with the power cutting blade to separate the clod. Sled units are sequentially inserted into the lower side of the bottom of the cut clod to form sleds, and the tree and the surrounding clod are pulled out with the sleds. Right and left movable arms are slidably attached to the right and left fixed arms of the U-shaped base frames of the apparatus for cutting the roots of the standing tree, and a cutting blade chain capable of being laterally reciprocated between both the opening side ends of the right and left movable arms is detachably attached.
