PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for testing a gear jump-out in a manual transmission are provided to shorten a test time and to save costs by directly connecting the gear jump-out testing apparatus to the manual transmission. CONSTITUTION: A gear jump-out testing apparatus includes a handling section(70) for moving a rail(51) back and forth. A strain gauge is attached to a shift lever(52). The shift lever(52) is connected to a front end of the handling section(70) so as to move the rail(51). A displacement sensor(57) is connected to one end of the rail(51) so as to detect the displacement of the rail. A synchronizing device(53) is connected to the rail(51). A clutch(56) is coupled to a clutch gear(53b) of the synchronizing device(53). A braking section is connected to a sleeve(53a) of the synchronizing device(53).
