PURPOSE: A method for inquiring interference state information of an access network is provided to sense previously the inconsistency between V5.2 interface states of the access network and an exchanger by inquiring an interface state of the opposite station. CONSTITUTION: An interface state information request and the format of the interface state information are defined by using a common control protocol message between an access network and an exchanger. A home station transmits the common control protocol message including the interface state information request to the opposite station(S11). The opposite station composes a common control message including the interface state information of the opposite station according to the interface state information request and transmits the common control message to the home station(S12,S13). The home station interprets the common control message and extracts the interface state information of the opposite station.
