<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a selenium-containing feed composition having a small difference in intake with livestock individuals and capable of healthfully increasing body weight of an animal such as livestock or pets, a method for healthfully increasing the body weight of the animal such as the livestock or pets and a method for prophylaxis and/or treatment of symptoms caused by oxygen disorder due to selenium deficiency of the animal such as the livestock or pets. <P>SOLUTION: This feed composition is obtained by formulating forage crops absorbing and accumulating selenium in plant bodies. The method for healthfully increasing the body weight of the animal comprises supplying the feed composition to the animal. The method for prophylaxis and/or treatment of the symptoms caused by the oxygen disorder due to the selenium deficiency in the animal comprises supplying the feed composition to the animal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
