PURPOSE: A washing machine with a door-locking device is provided to effectively prevent an accident by opening a door through selective restriction of working of a latch lever. CONSTITUTION: A washing machine with a door-locking device(20) has an upper cover(6) disposed to the upper part of a housing(1); a door(10) combined to the upper cover, to open and shut a laundry-throwing hole(6a) formed to the upper cover; and the door-locking device to keep the door closed. The door-locking device includes a latch lever(30) forming a fitting-projection at the tip; an elastic support member(40) elastically supporting the latch lever in the locking direction to keep the locked state of the fitting-projection; and a restriction unit(50) selectively restricting the latch lever working into a locking-release direction. The fitting-projection is fitted into the upper cover to keep a locked state when the door is closed, and the fitting-projection comes out of the upper cover when the door is opened. Thus, the door is opened just when restriction of the latch lever is released from the restriction unit. Accordingly, an accident is prevented.
