<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope in which the diameter of the insertion part is reduced, and also to provide an endoscope system having the same characteristic. <P>SOLUTION: The shape within a soft part 17 can be detected through the insertion of a coil 41 for generating a magnetic field instead of mounting only a densely wound coil 40 around a wire 39 in a material 38 for adjusting hardness within the soft part 17 of the insertion part 11. Further, a probe 31 for detecting the shape which is equipped with a coil 34 for generating a magnetic field is incorporated in a curved part 16. Thus, the endoscope having a function for adjusting hardness and a function for detecting the shape of the insertion part 11 is realized through reducing the outer diameter of the insertion part 11. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
