PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel structure produced by butt-jointing hollow steels such as steel pipes or the like or a hollow steel and a steel having a given shape to each other by the liquid-phase diffusion welding, and a production method therefor. SOLUTION: Hollow steels having a material tensile strength of 700 MPa or more, or a hollow steel and a circumferential joint of a steel having an arbitrary shape are jointed by liquid-phase diffusion welding by using a connecting foil containing V to produce a hollow steel structure including a liquid-phase diffusion welded joint having a connecting hardness at a connecting part being 105% or more of the hardness of the material to be connected.
