PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fire extinguisher housing unit 1 by which a fire extinguisher 2 can surely be used in emergency and is prevented from being brought out without leave by an indiscreet person, the whole of which is made to be compact for simplifying structure and reducing the number of parts, and which can be fitted to an already constructed building. SOLUTION: The housing unit for installing the fire extinguisher comprises a stage-like substrate 11 on which the fire extinguisher is placed and a back panel 12 which is fitted to a wall surface with its surface behind the substrate 11 and which is provided with an engaging means 13 for mounting the fire extinguisher attachably and detachably, so that the whole of the unit may nearly looks like L by a view from a side surface. The engaging means 13 is always energized upward to be movable upward and downward linked with the engaging and disengaging operation of the fire extinguisher. An operation arm 14 which turns on the switching means 302 of an alarming means stored in the substrate 11 in the case of disengaging the fire extinguisher and which turns off the switching means 302 in the case of setting the fire extinguisher is linked and connected to the engaging means 13.
