PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly transfer of a seedling having poor slipperiness in longitudinal direction even by placing a large number of seedlings on a seedling holding bed. SOLUTION: An extended seedling placing bed 40 and a longitudinal feeding roller 45 for seedling are placed at the upper end of a seedling holding bed 16. A seedling B placed over the extended seedling placing bed 40 and the seedling placing bed 16 is transferred to the longitudinal feeding roller 45. When the preceding seedling B at the lower end side of the seedling holding bed is transferred in longitudinal direction, the longitudinal feeding roller 45 is rotated to feed the next seedling B in a manner following the preceding seedling B.
