METHOD FOR DRIVING PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL

PURPOSE: A method for driving a plasma display panel is provided to increase a sustain margin and prevent a discharge error by applying an erase pulse for generating the weak discharge to a couple of sustain electrodes before a sustain period. CONSTITUTION: A cell is selected by generating the address discharge at an address period. A sustain discharge process for the selected cell at a sustain period is performed. A weak discharge process is performed between the address period and the sustain period. The remaining wall electric charges are removed from non-selected cells except the selected cell at the address period by the weak discharge. In a process for generating the weak discharge, an erase pulse having the negative polarity is applied to a scan electrode and the erase pulse having the positive polarity is applied to a common sustain electrode.
