PURPOSE: An apparatus for automatically estimating skid mark thickness deviation without distortion and controlling thickness of strip irrespective of change of rolling conditions and variation of rolling speed is provided. CONSTITUTION: In a rolling control apparatus for performing automatic strip thickness control using adaptive band filter to remove thickness deviation caused by skid mark in continuous rolling mill having a plurality of stands, the rolling control apparatus is characterized in that the adaptive band filter comprises a linear phase FIR (finite impulse response) filter for removing noises included in input signals considering time and control cycle from a time point when thickness of strip at the output side of the front stand is calculated or measured to a time point when thickness of the strip in the rear stand is controlled; RBF (radial basis function) neural net into which data on the rolling strip is inputted, and which predicts and sets the central frequency of the initial skid mark; and an adaptive line enhancer for automatically estimating skid mark thickness deviation according to rolling circumstances.
