<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which is capable of accurately inserting an indicator, tool or surgical instrument without any assistance of a patient or an operator into a preoperative image for which a respiratory movement or deformation due to heart beat is also taken into consideration. <P>SOLUTION: The navigation system for biopsy or surgical operations under the navigation guidance in which in vivo moving instruments provided with a location sensor (indicator, tool or surgical instruments) are inserted into the preoperatively prepared image data set and a moving part of the body (the heart in particular), whereas an ECG unit for generating trigger signals at a prescribed stage for preparing the image data set or the respiratory unit is installed, while a coordinate of the location sensor is inserted in the preoperative image only at the triggering stage. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
