<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice cooker with which the standard of the hardness of cooked rice can be changed according to the desire of a user. <P>SOLUTION: A hardness-instructing means is provided to give instructions to change the hardness of rice cooked with each of various rice-cooking menus. Parameters of at least one rice-cooking process in each rice-cooking menu are changed to achieve the hardness of cooked rice instructed by the hardness- instructing means. The hardness-instructing means has a zero-cross circuit 35 which outputs zero-cross pulse signals according to the sine wave AC voltage value outputted by a commercial power source 31 and a frequency-determining means (a microcomputer 36) which detects whether the frequency of the commercial power source 31 is 50 Hz or 60 Hz by the signal input from the zero-cross circuit 35. The hardness-instructing means gives instructions for hardening or softening according to the decision of the frequency-determining means on whether it is 50 Hz or 60 Hz. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
