PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a projecting shaft capable of closing a tip side of the projecting shaft of a stopper pin or the like and providing even a thin base with required strength by a simple method in an electronic storage device in which the inside part is hermetically held. SOLUTION: The electronic storage device is at least provided with a nearly dish-like metal base 1 in which a mechanism such as a drive motor for supporting, rotating and driving a head actuator and an information storage medium is arranged and the projecting shaft for supporting and positioning the mechanism is provided, and a top cover for covering an opening on the upper face of the base 1. In the device, the base 1 and the top cover are hermetically held. In the device, a press tool 5 is pressed from one side of the base 1 placed on a die 4 in which a hole 4a having a predetermined inner diameter is formed, and as a result, a material of the base 1 is moved inside the hole 4a of the die 4 and a nearly hollow projecting shaft 2 whose tip side is closed is formed to project.
