PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safely and surely prevent an insertion part of a press die from dropping off from a holder by providing a roller clutch mechanism and a dropout preventing apparatus with two stages to a holder regarding the exchange of the insertion part of the press die fixed to a storage chamber of the holder of the press die used for a press brake, a hydraulic press, a pneumatic press, and a machine operating press or the like, and at the same time, to quickly execute attachment/detachment and the exchange of the press die by a simple mechanism, and to improve the safety and efficiency of the machining work of a metal plate or the like as well. SOLUTION: The holding mechanism of the press die is constituted in such a manner that a tapered part 12 is formed on one side face of the storage chamber in the holder 5, a vertical part is formed on the opposite side face of the storage chamber, a roller clutch mechanism built-in a retainer 11 by protruding both side faces of rollers 15 is mounted on the tapered part side of the storage chamber, and the insertion part of the press die 1 is inserted between the side face of the roller clutch mechanism and the vertical part of the storage chamber.
