PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an immersion nozzle for continuous casting, provided with a spiral swirl vane for imparting swirl flow to molten steel within a nozzle, which can prevent the deposition of alumina or the like onto the swirl vane to prolong the service life of the swirl vane. SOLUTION: This immersion nozzle for continuous casting includes a nozzle body provided with a spiral swirl vane for imparting swirl flow to a molten steel therein. The amount of the molten steel poured is regulated by a sliding nozzle provided on the upper part of the immersion nozzle body. Further, the molten steel passage within the nozzle is divided into two parts by the swirl vane. The angleθ<SB>2</SB>of a direction indicated by the upper end of the swirl vane to a sliding direction of the sliding nozzle, is not more than 30 degrees. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
