PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the antithetical problems of the reduction of the amount of water to be used for backwashing and discharged and the prevention of the insufficient cleaning of the inside of a filtration tank by optimizing a backwashing time according to the dirty state of the inside of the filtration tank. SOLUTION: When the filtration tank 1 is backwashed, the backwashing time is decided according to the pressure in the upstream position of the tank 1 before the backwashing is started.
