PURPOSE: An apparatus for sensing deformation of muffle installed inside vertical annealing furnace of bright annealing line is provided to determine replacement time of the muffle accurately and removing danger of explosion and fire due to atmospheric gas by early sensing deformation of the muffle according to temperature deviation of the sealing part on the lower part of the muffle. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus includes a touch bar(17) at one end of which a touch roll(21) installed at the outer side of the lower part of the muffle is equipped, which is supported by an elastic member(23) so that the touch roll(21) has the action force directed to the muffle, and which is installed at the outer side of an oil tank(13) so that it is appeared and disappeared in a diameter direction of the oil tank; and a sensing means(19) connected to the touch bar(17) by a link(25) and connected to a control panel(27) to inform workers of the sensed deformation by sensing deformation of contraction and expansion of the lower part of the muffle by appearing and disappearing action of the touch bar(17), wherein the sensing means(19) includes a position sensor(29), contraction and expansion sensing sensors(31,33) and a ruler(35), and wherein the apparatus further comprises a muffle deformation retardation means comprising a thermometer(37) and an air chamber.
