PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an in-mold technique for manufacturing a plastic lens with a hard coat in a smoothly releasable manner and a molding tool with high release properties. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the plastic lens by injecting a raw material into a casting mold and polymerizing the raw material, a release layer for upgrading the release properties is formed on the uppermost face of an inner wall of the molding tool for moldings. Next, the casting mold for manufacturing the plastic lens is formed, using the molding tool with the release layer and a raw material for the plastic lens is injected into the formed casting mold and polymerized.
