PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material for transplant which can be engrafted at an early stage after transplant by having physical properties and shapes similar to a transplant site.
SOLUTION: The meniscus of a donor is extracted and frozen and cryopreserved aseptically at -80°C. Just before utilizing this as the cellular retention carrier, the frozen meniscus is thawed and thereafter, multiple pores are formed so as to wet cells by using a needle-shaped implement. The meniscus formed with the pores is used as the cellular retention carrier. A cell suspension is prepared by using marrow cells obtained from the tibia of a recipient and dripped to the cellular retention carrier to be wet and engrafted inside the cellular retention carrier to be cultured. Thus, the cells are proliferated and a substrate is produced to create a material for transplant. When this material for transplant is transplanted to the recipient, it is engrafted in a short period.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
