PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating fluorine-containing water in which a calcium carbonate-base filler whose fluorine removing power has been lowered by formation of a film, etc., of calcium chloride on its surface due to long-term use can be satisfactorily regenerated and to provide a device for treating fluorine-containing water. SOLUTION: When fluorine-containing water is fed into a packed column 70 packed with a calcium carbonate-base granular filler 75 and a film, etc., of calcium fluoride are formed on the surface of the filler 75 to lower the fluorine removing power of the filler, feed of fluorine-containing water is suspended, the filler 75 is forcibly stirred with a stirrer 81a in water to crush and remove the film, etc., of calcium fluoride, whereby the filler is regenerated, and then feed of fluorine-containing water into the packed column 70 is restarted.
