PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a apparatus and a method for continuous storage for a band or tape material 10, particularly a wrapping material or a covering material for rod articles in tobacco industry. SOLUTION: In this apparatus, at least first winding elements 4, 106 and 108 and first guide means 16 and 106 are installed and these guide means 16 can be operated so as to wind the material 10 on at least part of first winding elements in a first direction and these guide means 16 can be operated so as to unwind the material 10 from the first winding elements 4, 106 and 108. The material 10 is wound in at least zones of first rolling elements 4, 106 and 108 and unwound from the first winding elements. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
