PURPOSE: An environmentally friendly liquid calcium composition including a calcium component extracted from oyster shells as a main component is provided. The application of the functional liquid calcium composition to the crop prevents calcium deficiencies and disease damage generated during cultivation of major horticultural crops, improves preservability of fruits and remarkably reduces the amount of agricultural chemicals to be used. CONSTITUTION: A liquid calcium composition is prepared by blending 80 to 95% by weight of a calcium component extracted from oyster shells, 0.05 to 0.005% by weight of silicone oil, 1.0 to 0.05% by weight of xanthan gum and water and then additionally adding one or more components selected from chitosan, wax components and silver components. The calcium component extract is obtained by reacting oyster shell powder with an acid selected from hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, nitric acid, citric acid, acetic acid, lactic acid, malic acid and gluconic acid. The composition is diluted with 10 to 3,000 times of water and then sprayed on both ground and underground parts of horticultural crops. |
