<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a grommet assembly which reduces an impact and a vibration amount in a sports racquet, gives an improved hit feeling to a user and reduces or excludes danger to hasten the progression of a damage in strings. <P>SOLUTION: The first grommet member 32 of the grommet assembly 12 includes a first strip 36 and a plurality of barrels 38. Each barrel 38 to extend through a grommet hole 26 includes a first string hole 48. The second grommet member 34 of the grommet assembly 12 includes a second strip 50 and a plurality of pegs 52. Each peg 52 has a second string hole 58. The second internal surface 54 of the second strip 50 contacts the first external surface 42 of the first strip 36, and the pegs 52 extend into the barrels 38 such that the fires and second string holes 48 and 58 are co-axially aligned.
