<p>The invention concerns a method for estimating motion between two digital images, I1 and I2, with brightness Y1 and Y2, for generating, for each point of co-ordinates x,y of image I2 a motion vector <o>d</o>(x,y)=(dx,dy) so as to form an image Î2 from image I1with brightness Ŷ2(x,y)=Y1(x-dx,y-dy) which is an approximation of image I2. Said method consists in using of a model of finite elements and a differential method for determining the motion field of image I2. The invention is characterised in that the mesh associated with the model of finite elements is refined as the motion estimation is being carried out.</p> |
