PURPOSE: An apparatus for lifting a frame filter of an indoor unit of an air conditioner is provided to prevent deterioration of cooling performance and contamination of indoor air. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus includes guide rails(70,70',70") formed on an inside wall of an indoor unit to guide vertical movement of frame filters(7,7'); a motor(44), a step motor rotating in normal direction and reverse direction, having a gear(40) placed on an end of a rotary shaft(42), and mounted on lower parts of the guide rails; a main lifter(20) having a spline(22) formed on one side thereof and engaged with the gear to move up and down along the guide rails when the motor works; and an auxiliary lifter(10) moved together with the main lifter by an interlocking unit, a belt(30) wound around a belt mounting part(24) formed on one side of the main lifter to slide, so as to move up and down the frame filter fixed on a lower end thereof. A fixing protrusion(26) is formed on the other side of the main lifter to prevent downward movement of the frame filter.
