The waste container comprises a bin (1) with four walls (2,3) that is closed at the bottom by a base (4) and that bears a lid (5) at the top. The bin can be gripped between two arms of a gripper for lifting and emptying, and is provided with an attachment (17) on which an arm is able to engage. The attachment is fixed to the bin by bolts, rivets (21) etc. The bin may have an external collar (9) at the top and the attachment may be braced underneath the collar. Independent claims are included for a collection system.
