A password is set using a menu for restricting viewing of contents, and stored in preliminary region of certain stream of contents, and the contents are recorded in an optical recording medium. The contents are reproduced if a newly input password and the stored password are identical. An independent claim is also included for a viewing restriction apparatus for restricting recording/viewing of video scenes to and from optical recording medium.
