PURPOSE: A rib end mill for preventing vibration is provided to extend the life span of the tool and improve roughness of the processing surface by reinforcing the neck of the rib end mill and guiding the neck in the processing surface of the work piece, and to reduce processing time by increasing the cutting speed. CONSTITUTION: A shank is combined with a holder of a main shaft of a milling machine, and a neck(2) is integrally formed in the end of the shank to connect to a cutting blade part(3). The cutting blade part is integrally formed in the end of the neck, and a flute is formed in the cutting blade part to discharge chips in cutting. The diameter of the neck is smaller than the diameter of the cutting blade part to reduce friction resistance. The diameter of the cutting blade part is less than 6 mm, and the entire length of the rib end mill is five times as large as the diameter of the cutting blade part. Grooves are arranged in the neck and formed spirally or horizontally.
