An electricity generator windmill includes a tower rotating on a base 19, and at the top of the tower a set of windmill blades 9 mounted between a central axis and a peripheral annulus 10. A belt drive transmits the rotation of the annulus to a generator 25 mounted at the bottom of the tower. The drive belt is protected from the weather by a casing extending around the annulus and down the sides of the tower. |
