PURPOSE:To enable a document preparator to finish a document matched with an intention or purpose for the document being prepared and to carefully support document prepartion by indicating knowledge for document preparation such as necessary layout and coloring in accordance with preparator's editing work during the period of document preparation. CONSTITUTION:A document/document attribute storing part 102 stores document elements including the contents and attributes of a document, and when a document edition instructing part 101 instructs the edition of one of document elements constituting the document, a document displaying part 103 displays the document to be edited. When a document preparation purpose displaying part 104 indicates a purpose for document preparation by one of the sort, objective person, impression, and purpose of the document at least, a document preparation knowledge retrieving part 105 retrieves knowledge for document preparation, e.g. the contents of knowledge for the image of a style of type from a document preparation knowledge data base 100 by using the specified document element to be edited and the purpose of document preparation as retrieving keys and a document preparation knowledge displaying part 106 displays the retrieved document preparation knowledge. |
