The crystalline form VI of 5,6-dichloro-2-(isopropylamino)-1b-L-ribofuranosyl-1H-benzimidazole is characterized by an X-ray powder diffraction pattern expressed in terms of 2 theta angles and obtained with a diffractometer equipped with a diffracted beam graphite monochromator using copper Ka X-radiation with the X-ray powder diffraction pattern comprising 2 theta angle at 8.53 ± 0.05 degrees. The compound 5,6-dichloro-2-(isopropylamino)-1b-L-ribofuranosyl-1H-benzimidazole has the formula (I). A crystalline form of 5,6-dichloro-2-(isopropylamino)-1b-L-ribofuranosyl-1H-benzimidazole is characterized by an X-ray powder diffraction pattern expressed in terms of 2 theta angles and obtained with a diffractometer equipped with a diffracted beam graphite monochromator using copper Ka X-radiation with the X-ray powder diffraction pattern comprising 2 theta angles at five or more positions selected from the group consisting of 8.53 ± 0.05, 10.47 ± 0.05, 13.51 ± 0.05, 14.95 ± 0.05, 15.98 ± 0.05, 17.23 ± 0.05, 21.41 ± 0.05, 21.83 ± 0.05, 22.35 ± 0.05, 23.07 ± 0.05, and 27.49 ± 0.05 degrees. The compounds are useful for treating viral infections.
