Amelioration of apomorphine adverse effects for sexual dysfunction in males and females

Adverse effects of apomorphine can be minimized by administering to a patient a threshold dose of apomorphine followed by administering a series of increasing periodic doses of apomorphine greater than the threshold dose until a final apomorphine dose in excess of a therapeutic dose has been received by the patient and then administering to the patient a therapeutic dose of apomorphine. The therapeutic dose of apomorphine to be administered is an amount sufficient to induce a penile erection sufficient for vaginal penetration in a male patient and an amount sufficient to ameliorate sexual dysfunction in a female patient by inducing clitoral erectogenesis and vaginal engorgement on stimulation of the female.
