PURPOSE: A broadcasting receiver having credit card settlement system within is provided to purchase products from home shopping channel or an Internet shopping mall by recognizing a credit card at the broadcasting receiver, thereby increasing the convenience of a user. CONSTITUTION: A television(1) is connectable to home shopping channel or the Internet. A card recognizing unit recognizes a credit card and read information of the credit card. A central processing unit of a card settlement unit recognizes the read information of the credit card and converts the recognized values into a format required for transmitting data. The central processing unit of the card settlement unit is connected with a central processing unit of the television for displaying information of approval or denial. A transceiver transmits the information of the credit card to a credit card company and receives the approval or denial information from the credit card company for applying the approval or denial information to the central processing unit of the card settlement unit.
