PURPOSE: A piezoelectric ceramic composition of the αPb(sB1/3Nb2/3)O3 - βPbZrO3 - γPbTiO3 system is provided for use as acceleration sensors requiring high piezoelectric voltage constant and high temperature stability. CONSTITUTION: The piezoelectric ceramic composition is expressed by a formula of αPb(Sb1/2Nb1/2)O3 - βPbZrO3 - γPbTiO3 + xMnO2 + yLa2O3, wherein α, β, γ, x and y are in the ranges of 0.01<=α <=0.10 mole, 0.30<=β<=0.60 mole, 0.30<=γ<=0.60 mole, 0.1<=x<=1.0 wt.%, and 0.1<=y<=0.5 wt.%, respectively. The piezoelectric powder for piezo-transformer used in acceleration sensor is prepared by mixing PbO, ZrO2, TiO2, Sb2O3, Nb2O5, MnO2 and La2O3 in the proportion corresponding to the above composition, and calcining at 700-1000deg.C for 1-5hrs.
