PURPOSE: A system and a method for recovering a computer system are provided to recover a plurality of computers forming a network very easily by using a general recovery medium. CONSTITUTION: Local clients(41-44) are equipped with hardware devices, an OS(Operating System) program, offline programs executing a constant function and installing to the local clients(41-44) after inputting a certification key, and online programs executing the constant function by connecting through a communication program. A local recovery server(30) forms the network by connecting with the local clients(41-44), and respectively stores the hardware device information including the network information respectively installed to the local clients(41-44), the information and the certification key of the offline program, and the information of the online program. A recovery management central server(10) connects to the local recovery servers(30) through the Internet(20), stores the information of the local recovery servers(30), and respectively transmits the upgrade information of the offline program to the local recovery servers(30).
