PURPOSE: To provide a transmitter for a tire state monitor and the tire state monitor, which can report an abnormal state of a tire in detail and extend the life of a battery. CONSTITUTION: The period of measuring the pneumatic pressure and the temperature of the tire is usually set to 15 seconds. Accordingly, when the tire is in a normal state, the pneumatic pressure and temperature of the tire are measured in a relatively long measuring period of 15 seconds, using a pressure sensor 32 and a temperature sensor 33. When the pneumatic pressure or temperature of the tire is abnormal, however, the measuring period of the pneumatic pressure or temperature is changed from 15 seconds to 1 second. Therefore, the pneumatic pressure and temperature of the tire are measured in a relatively short measuring period of 1 second, using the pressure sensor 32 and temperature sensor 33, when the tire is in an abnormal state. In this manner, the abnormal state of the pneumatic pressure or temperature of the tire can be reported in detail and the life of the battery 36 can also be extended.
