PURPOSE: A multiple line camera system and a method for controlling the same are provided to efficiently and simply inter-work images obtained by a plurality of cameras without using a grabber connected to the cameras for converting the images into digital values. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of cameras(C11,C12,C13,C14) obtain images of a target object(T). A plurality of FIFOs(First-In First-Out,F11,F12,F13,F14) are connected with the plurality of cameras for FIFO-processing image data output from the plurality of cameras. A multiplexer(M11) packs the image data output from the plurality of FIFOs for transmitting the packed image data through a transmission path. If the final line valid signals are output from the plurality of cameras, the multiplexer stops data packing.
