PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent lamp in which high luminance emission suitable for a backlight light source or the like can be easily obtained. SOLUTION: This is a fluorescent lamp that comprises a glass bulb 1 in which on an inner wall a phosphor film 2 is formed and a discharge medium including a rare gas is filled, a pair of terminal lead wires 5, 5 which are sealed and introduced opposed to each other at the both ends in the glass bulb 1, an inner electrode 6 which is stretched and sealed between the above facing terminal lead wires 5, 5, and an outer electrode 7 which is arranged in one body on the outer circumference of the glass bulb 1 throughout the nearly whole length in the tube axis direction. The above inner electrode 6 is stretched and sealed in the position eccentric to the center axis of the glass bulb 1. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
