PURPOSE: A method for dynamically setting IPC(Inter-Processor Communication) path information in an ATM exchange is provided to dynamically set the IPC path information, thereby setting necessary information when activating individual processors and device controllers and changing the IPC path information if forms of the processors or the device controllers are changed. CONSTITUTION: If an operation maintenance processor receives form information from an operation workstation(31), an ATM exchange extracts communication path information(32), and transmits the extracted communication path information to all processors mounted on a system(33). If a response to the path information transmission is received from a processor and device controller(34), the operation maintenance processor changes a path state(35), and reports changed path state information to the operation workstation(36). The operation maintenance processor unlimitedly repeats the path information transmission by a timer, and always stands by a path setup response and the form information.
