<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration wave driver capable of producing a stabilized output over a long term by reducing forced excitation in vibrational modes other than a dive mode generated by protrusions/recesses at the sliding part of an elastic body constituting a vibrator thereby making uniform a driving amplitude. <P>SOLUTION: The response amplitude of forced excitation in a torsional mode at a driving frequency is reduced by setting the eigen frequency in vibrational modes other than an antiplane bending mode used for driving, especially in a torsional mode having an amplitude component in the antiplane direction at a sliding section. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
