<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner having a narrow particle size distribution, capable of keeping the particle shape essentially spherical, capable of reliably forming recesses in the particle surfaces, excellent in suitability to cleaning with a cleaning blade and excellent also in an initial image and a permanent image after continuous printing and to provide a method for manufacturing the toner. <P>SOLUTION: A polymerizable monomer composition comprising at least a polymerizable monomer, a colorant and metal oxide particles is dispersed in an aqueous medium containing a slightly water-soluble metal hydroxide, toner particles are obtained by polymerizing the composition and metal oxide particles exposed to the surfaces of the toner particles are removed by a chemical method to manufacture the objective toner. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
