PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a luminance level inspecting apparatus which can eliminate flicker components of an image signal which changes in the vertical direction with simple constitution. SOLUTION: The luminance level inspecting apparatus is provided with a vertical line extracting means for extracting one vertical direction line along the vertical direction, from a prescribed image picked with a camera module a maximum luminance level position detecting means for detecting a maximum luminance position showing a position where the luminance level becomes maximum in the one vertical direction line, a horizontal line extracting means for extracting one horizontal direction line from the image which line intersects horizontally the maximum luminance level position, and a luminance level inspecting means for inspecting the luminance level of the image on the basis of image data showing an image on the one horizontal direction line.
