PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the displacement of a collar 5 due to thermal expansion in an upper-layer coil end 11b. SOLUTION: The collar 5 comprises a boss 5a press-fitted to a rotating shaft 7, and a flange 5b extended outward from the boss 5a in the radial direction. The boss 5a and the flange 5b are so designed that the thickness t0 of the boss 5a is greater than the thickness t1 of the flange 5b. Thus, when a lower-layer coil end 10b and the upper-layer coil end 11b are thermally expanded due to a temperature rise in the rotating electric machine 1, the pull-out load of the boss 5a to the rotating shaft 7 is greater than the load produced due to the deflection of the flange 5b (load exerted in the direction of pulling the boss 5a out of the rotating shaft 7). As a result, a pressing portion 5c can keep on pressing against the upper-layer coil end 11b and the lower-layer coil end 10b via an insulating ring 16 by the elastic force of the flange 5b. Thus, the upper-layer coil end 10b and the lower-layer coil end 10b are prevented from being lifted off by a centrifugal force. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
