PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil pan structure of an engine, effective in protection of a transmission belt or a drive pulley in a timing control transmission mechanism, increasing capacity of an oil pan by an extension part of a transmission case, and effectively utilizing a dead space below the drive pulley. SOLUTION: In this structure, the oil pan 4 comprises the downward extension part 13e of the transmission case 13, and an oil pan body 4<SB>1</SB>wherein one end of a crankshaft 9 is released. The extension part 13e is positioned below the auxiliary-driving drive pulley 48 fixed to an end part of the outside of the transmission case 13 of the crankshaft 9, has a U-shaped vertical section, and projects to the outside in the crankshaft direction over a width in the crankshaft direction of the drive pulley 48.
