PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera with which a photographer can confirm whether an object image has been recorded on a recording medium when the photographer presses down a shutter button. SOLUTION: This digital camera 100 is provided with the shutter button 1, a CCD 4, a sound output mechanism 7 and a recorder 10. The sound output mechanism 7 is provided with a sound storage memory 12 and a sound output device 14. When the photographer presses down the shutter button 1, the object image imaged by the CCD 4 is recorded as digital image data on the recording medium (not shown) of the recorder 10, and meanwhile, sound stored in the sound storage memory 12 is outputted from the sound output device 14.
