PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly input/output image data even when image data for a number of pages are inputted. SOLUTION: In an image storage part 30, a page memory 32 is divided into a direct memory area 32A and a storage memory area 32B and when image data are inputted, first of all, the image data are transferred out while being stored in the direct memory area. When empty areas in the direct memory area are exhausted, the inputted image data are stored in the storage memory area and transferred out to a storage memory part 34. Thus, the image data are stored in an HDD 36 and when the empty area is produced in the direct memory area, the image data are read out of the HDD, stored in the direct memory area and transferred out.
