PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit temporal information and positional information with the code information of a bar code when reading the bar code in a portable telephone set with a bar code reading function. SOLUTION: After decoding the bar code read by an optical reader 16 to obtain the code information, the temporal information is obtained from a timer part 26 and the positional information is obtained from a GPS receiver 15, next. Then, the code information is transmitted by being associated with the temporal information and positional information. Thus, the code information can be managed by being associated with a place and time where and when the bar code is read, thereby baggage can conveniently be managed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
