<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evaluate the binocular view performance of spectacles lenses and display the results of the evaluation. <P>SOLUTION: A method and an apparatus for evaluating and displaying the binocular view performance of the spectacles lenses are disclosed. Binocular view performance indices indicating the binocular view performance of the lenses to all object points in the field of view when the external world is observed through the spectacles lenses are defined and obtained. The binocular view performance of the spectacles lenses is evaluated through the use of the binocular view performance indices. By adding a gray level value or a RGB luminance value to each pixel according to the values of the binocular view performance indices when the corresponding object points are viewed, the image of the field of view is created and displayed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
